At last, there is something positive to cheer about!  The 2009 vintage from Bordeaux has been awaited with great enthusiasm around the world, and judging by our extensive tasting and by subsequent press comments, it has certainly not disappointed.  2009 is undoubtedly a superb vintage in most cases, in particular in the Médoc and in the Graves/Pessac-Leognan appellations. There are, of course, some real superstars on the Right Bank as well with some stunning Saint-Emilions, Pomerols and the often overlooked Fronsac.  On the Left Bank, Saint-Julien stood out for intensity, grace and elegance, Saint-Estephe for enticing aromas, Pauillac for sheer power and depth of fruit and Margaux, although a little less homogenous, had great silkiness and finesse.  Many smaller names excelled, indeed, making the vintage of a lifetime, and will offer wonderful drinking in years to come.  Prices have been seeping out now for a couple of weeks for the Cru Bourgeois and Petits Chateaux but any minute now, the excitement will hot up as the big guns are announced and the real show begins.

Monica and Noel of our En Primeur Team spent a week in Bordeaux at the end of March and Nigel tasted over two days in April in London, as a result we have compiled our own notes on the wines, many of which we have followed for years, but also with some exciting newcomers

We would ask you to send us your expression of interest in the first instance, by email, copying all three email addresses below in case any of us are traveling.  Send a wish-list of the wines that tempt you, or wines that you normally follow.  We will then notify you immediately by email as the offers come out and we will try to match your requirements according to the allocations that we receive from the various negociants.
